It’s the Inspiration that Counts
I have been underwater lately…unable really even to keep up with my e-mail and voice messages…or writing. But, recently I received a comment that inspired me to pick myself up, brush off the dust, and get back into the game.
Where have I been? Well, I’ve been working hard; not hard like laying railroad ties, but hard like untangling knots. It’s really been all-consuming mentally, both at work and at home. I think I’m seeing some light at the end of the tunnel, though, and that feels pretty good.
It turns out that the comment was spam…it just linked to some debt reduction site. But, that’s no matter: it’s the inspiration that counts. It reminded me of that old Grateful Dead line:
Once in awhile you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
So, if a spammer can inspire me, what is going to inspire you?
Not to mention, you may also be able to reduce your debt
Somebody buy that spammer a beer!

I know exactly how you feel Scott. It is hard to stay afloat sometimes, especially when it comes to consistent blogging. You did inspire me to keep up with my blog four days per week though! Keep the posts coming. I love reading!

so then here’s a real comment– ever since you reached out to us on sterling’s 3rd Button blog, I signed on for your posts via email as well. Your style of writing- while perfectly great- does not inspire me as much as your expression of basic humanness. It’s nice to know there are real people in the business world with opinions and life problems, trying to keep it all in balance. You remind me of that each time you post. so Keep going!
