If it was convenient I would definitely spend some time during the games in Vancouver though! Just for the energy of it.

Does a host city ever have the infrastructure to support it? But could it be worse than bottle necked Vancouver?

They are estimating up to a couple of hours wait for light rail, and another couple of hours to get through security.

Also, for some reason, I've never had the same love I have for the winter games as I do for the summer.

Go. You'll find tickets, you'll get to the venues and across the border. Any hassle is mitigated by the amazing array of humanity you'll see from all over the world and the happy vibe that is unique to the Olympics. It's kind of addictive. I attended the Atlanta Games in 1996 and at the time thought I'd never miss another one. The Olympics are so fun.

If you do,give me a shout. We can go for a drink or something. The city is looking absolutely fantastic. Even if you don't see any sporting events, the cultural olympiad going on is the biggest in the World. There are so many things to do, I think I may play hooky a lot next week.
