Please support this young woman, and pass this video along to your friends

On Friday, May 25, 2012, I sat on a panel with a variety of people from both the music and technology industries (most widely known, Sir-Mix-a-Lot) to discuss how aspiring singers and musicians could use the Internet to promote their work.

Taylor Nicole, the young woman in this video, was anxious about putting video of her work online. She is a perfectionist, her mother, seated to the left, said.

Our response was to show Taylor that it wasn’t the quality of the video, but her voice that made the difference. You be the judge.

Me?  I want to show her the power of social media.  So, please, if you like what you see then pass it along to your friends, and start following Taylor: @taylornicole614 on Twitter and YouTube.

  1. A great way for a musician to get noticed online is to enter Make A Star, an online talent show. You submit a video and the online audience votes on it. This is an easy way to get into a competition and there is no downside. If you do not get any votes, then you need to think about your performance.
