INME! Friday: Rush
I spent yesterday on the sofa under the weather, watching a 2-hour documentary about the band Rush. I knew they were big, but I didn’t know much about the nature of their success.
It turns out they share many similarities with one of my favorite bands, the Grateful Dead. It’s as though they were the Grateful Dead for hard rock: epic and erudite, unpopular in the mainstream (and mainstream press), rabidly loyal fans and extreme longevity.
